SPR# KICA49ECY3 - Session authentication does not work properly
Technote Number: 1092560

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino 5.0.2.
For versions prior to 5.0.2, the behavior is inconsistent and does not occur
every time the mail file is accessed with a Web browser. This behavior occurs
with Domino servers on AS/400 only; it has not been seen on the Windows NT or
UNIX platforms.Supporting Information:
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. To enable session-based authentication, open the Server document, go to the
Internet Protocols tab, then the Domino Web Engine tab, and in the HTTP
Sessions section, change the field "Session authentication" to "Enabled."
2. Open your mail file using a Web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape).
The "Server Login" screen appears (this is the default form for session-based
authentication). Enter your name and password.
4. Create a new memo and click the Send button. The "Server Login" screen
appears again. The screen appears if you click the Send, Send and File, or
Save as Draft buttons.
